El Toro Marine Reserve- September 2018

A day out in El Toro with Katie O´Malley, Noah and Sophia. Noah was our skipper and showed himself to be very competent- keeping a watch for traffic, swimmers, shallow water and wildlife. We brought an octopus on board (and then released it) and saw many “Fried Egg Jellyfish” which were once a rarity but are now becoming more prolific- a sign of improvement of the water quality, perhaps. Katie dived to 24m, thus completing her AIDA 3 deep dive requirement. The kids enjoyed every moment but it was all a bit too much for Sophia, who fell asleep and remained so even through the engine noise on the way home.
